Sepultura Launch Kickstarter To Fund Documentary

Over their extensive career, Brazilian metallers Sepultura have been on a fairly wild journey. From super humble beginnings to becoming stalwarts of the scene, they’re truly seen it all and now they are giving fans the chance to see even more with news of a forthcoming documentary on the band.

Sepultura have officially launched their own Kickstarter Campaign to fund the final stages of the production. The band teamed up with Filmmaker Otavio Juliano who has been following them for the better part of 3 years as they toured the planet and recorded their 2011 album Kairos.

According to the band, nothing has been off limits for the camera crew who have caught live performances, personal interactions, plenty of dramas and a talking head style run of interviews.

The documentary makers have revealed that around half of the film has been shot so far. They go on to explain, “We will see them at their most vulnerable and human, and also as idols of the heavy metal genre. Those elements make the overall film an uncommonly powerful statement.”

If you’re willing to fork out $10,000 for the campaign, the band will hook you up with Executive Producer credits, fly you to Brazil for the film’s premiere and put you up in a hotel for 2 nights.

That is actually a pretty decent deal. Anyone want to lend us 10 grand? The band have pulled in just over $2,000 from their $100,000 so it’s time to dig deep, guys.
