Slash Confirms Soundwave Festival Sideshows

Though official announcements for Soundwave 2015 sideshows, known to fans as Sidewaves, are still months away, hard rock icon and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has confirmed that he, Myles Kennedy, and his band, The Conspirators, will “definitely” play some sideshows while in the country.

Speaking recently to Music Feeds, the guitar god confirmed the band will play headline dates. “There definitely will be sideshows. I don’t know specifically the venues or any of that yet, but I will,” explained Slash. “So yeah, definitely, definitely sideshows. That’s one of the great things about Soundwave.”

Festival promoter AJ Maddah previously said Slash could “end up becoming festival only”, though admitted the guitarist would then likely make a surprise appearance at some small venue. While Slash conceded that was his MO, he insisted, “There’s definitely some specific venues that we’re gonna be playing, but I just don’t know the names of them yet.”

Maddah has already cast doubt on a Brisbane Sidewave from Slash, though only time will tell if the former Guns N’ Roses axeman will make a headline appearance in the Queensland capital. Maddah says 2015 Sidewaves will “probably” be announced earlier than those for 2014, which kicked off in January.

Already, Maddah has confirmed that Faith No More, Slipknot, and “a few others” will be festival-exclusive and that Perth and Adelaide will not receive sideshows.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will be touring on the back of their latest album, World on Fire, which is slated for release this Friday, 12th September.
