Stormzy Pulls Out Of Listen Out, Cancels All Remaining 2016 Shows

UPDATE 23/09/16 3:25pm AEST: Listen Out has announced the two acts which will help to replace Stormzy on their 2016 lineup.

ORIGINAL STORY: UK Grime artist Stormzy has announced that due to personal reasons he has been forced to cancel all remaining live appearances for 2016, including his impending appearances at Listen Out festival.

In a statement posted to his Facebook page, Stormzy apologised to his fans, but explained that his reasons for doing so were “out of my control”.

“My G’s, it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform you that, with the exception of 1Xtra Live, the remainder of my live shows and festival appearances for 2016 have been postponed due to reasons out of my control,” he says.

“You know how much I love and enjoy performing so I hope you can envision and understand how substantial the reasons are in order for my to make such a decision… Deepest apologies and big love as always, Stormzy.”

Listen Out shared Stormzy’s post, confirming that Listen Out 2016 is included in those festivals which he won’t be playing, and saying that they’ll doing their best to organise a replacement at short notice.

“Stormzy has just announced that he’s postponing his upcoming live shows & tours, so very sadly he won’t be appearing at Listen Out. Obviously we’re totally gutted about this. We’re going to start looking straight away at whether there’s something special we can arrange in time for the festivals,” the festival says.
