Sugar Mountain Festival Announce New Spin-Off Doggo Show

The folks at Sugar Mountain are kicking off their annual music and arts festival a day early this year, with a very special event that is sure to get tails a waggin’ and tongues a flappin’.

Dust off your sparkliest collar and your shine up your best ball, the inaugural Sugar Mountain x Visions (UK) Dog Show is now a real life thing, and it’s happening next month.

Never thinking inside the box, Sugar Mountain have decided to team up with London’s Visions Festival folk (the original Dog Show founders) to bring you this new spin-off event for the 2017 edition of Sugar Mountain festival.

The Dog Show will run the night before the festival, on Friday the 20th January, between 6:30 – 9pm at Melbourne’s MPavilion in the Queen Victoria Gardens, conveniently right near the festival site itself.

The Dog Show is free to attend for all the dogs and for their people too, with a small competition entry fee of $10 that will generously be donated to Guide Dogs Victoria.

The competition categories will be (drum roll plz): Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Best in Show, RuPaw’s Drag Race (dogs in drag), Fancy Dress (Bowie, Kylie, Prince, Warhol).

Prizes for winners are yet to be announced – so stay tuned for that – but all entrants are guaranteed to take home a limited edition Dog Show t-shirt, to be proudly worn by the doggo’s human.

The Dog Show will be MC’d by some Sugar Mountain faves, and judges will be a host of Sugar Mountain artists and dog lovers alike. Dog Haus DJs (yet to be announced), and beers will be will be provided by beer brewing legends Sample Brew.

Sugar Mountain 2017 will kick off the very next day at Victorian College of the Arts. This one-day festival extravaganza is a celebration of music and art. Head here for the lineup.
