Finally It’s here. After the false start earlier in the week, where they announced ticket information, venues and pre-sale options instead of the actual acts who are playing – the line-up for SupaFest 2013 has been revealed.
The line-up was revealed after a lengthy wait from midday today via the festivals Facebook group, and features the likes of Ti, Ne-Yo, Akon J. Cole, Wake Flocka to name a few, along with the correct rumour that 50 Cent will be playing on the lineup after DJ Whoo Kid leaked dates on his Twitter. Check out the full line up below.
The fact that the festival is returning in 2013 is a big achievement in itself, given all the behind-the-scenes dramas that engulfed SupaFest in 2012. Since then, promoter John Denison has distanced himself from the festival, but still seems to know all the goss about what’s going to be happening this year. The company behind Supafest, PaperChase, has also been hit with several lawsuits and claims that they owe money to various sources.
Nonetheless, it looks like organisers are trying to make up for their past dramas and deliver a great festival this year, as reflected by the line-up. Time will tell if consumers are willing to trust them and help them turn Supafest into a success, or if it will be the final nail in the festival’s coffin.
Tickets are $115 + BF for standard tickets, with the glitzy ‘Bling Ring’ tickets set at $210 a pop. SupaFest members can get their hands on tickets on Monday, while another pre-sale will be happening on Tuesday, 12th March.
