The Tea Party Will Tour Australia In 2012

It looks like Jeff Martin’s band, The Tea Party, will tour Australia in February 2012, possibly featuring on the Soundwave festival line-up. The band have been in the media a lot this week concerning the possible purchase of their domain name teaparty.com by the United States political party. In an interview with Businessweek, Tea Party bassist Stuart Chatwood speaks about the problems the political party have caused them and the possible sale of the domain, stating :

So much damage has been done to our name by the political movement that we’re considering selling.

The article then says ‘The Tea Party temporarily reunited for a successful 11-city tour this past summer. In February, they’ll kick off another run in Australia’, confirming that the band will tour next year in the same month as the Soundwave 2012 Festival will be making its way across the country.

The Tea Party broke up in 2005 citing ‘artistic differences’ and since then Jeff Martin has toured solo. After temporarily reuniting in 2011, it looks like the band may be back for a while in 2012.
