New South Wales Premier Mike “Casino Mike” Baird has copped some flack from an angry concert audience in Sydney who have been filmed chanting “Casino Mike” in their loudest anti-Baird voices, calling attention to Star Casino’s exemption from the city’s lockout laws.
Footage of the “Casino Mike” chant in action is, of course, pretty inspiring. The moment was captured by local rapper Losty during his performance at the Metro Theatre on Friday, 12th February, where he was supporting fellow MC Kerser.
Posting the clip to Facebook following the gig, Losty said, “So I got the whole metro to give #casinomike a shout out tonight #Sydney #keepsydneyopen.” Catch the full video, below.
Footage of Losty’s chanting crowd comes after Mr Baird was also slammed by the likes of shock jock Alan Jones, Sydney dance act Art Vs Science and Tyson Koh from Keep Sydney Open, who recently put Baird on the spot on morning radio.
In the last week, the NSW Government has announced a new leader for its review of Sydney’s lockout laws, and has also appealed to the public to have their say on the issue. The state’s final report is set to be handed down in August.
So I got the whole metro to give #casinomike a shout out tonight #Sydney #keepsydneyopen
