Watch: Nirvana Feat. Paul McCartney Perform New Track ‘Cut Me Some Slack’

The moment we’ve all been hearing about has now made its way onto YouTube. At the very recent 12.12.12 charity event, Nirvana’s surviving members fronted by Sir Paul McCartney formed on stage to perform an original track Cut Me Some Slack.

So as strange as Nirvana would sound with Paul singing, it still would have been cool to see the other members jam out on stage to a few of the classics, but the gang, featuring ‘unofficial’ Nirvana member Pat Smear, left the sacred hits untouched. Probably a smart move.

Paul seems to be running with the joke that he didn’t know who Nirvana were (rather than keeping that part quiet) and the new tune would probably have to be one of the less-interesting Nirvana tracks, but the sentiment of the performance is what’s important – it’s the thought that counts.

Cut Me Some Slack will be the first official single from the forthcoming Sound City – Real to Reel album.

The Rolling Stones, The Boss and even Adam Sandler came together for the event, raising funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
