Young Thug Pulls Out Of Laneway Festival, Dune Rats Announced As Replacement

Atlanta rapper Young Thug has pulled out out this year’s Laneway Festival, but has been swiftly replaced by local bonglords Dune Rats.

Young Thug’s scheduled trip down under was to be his first as part of Laneway Festival, but he’s pulled out due to “recent complications with the visa process”.

In a statement, Laneway organisers say, “We are deeply disappointed with this outcome as we have wanted Young Thug to play at the festival for some years now.

“We understand that patrons may have bought tickets specifically to see Young Thug and offer our sincerest apologies as well as a window for refund requests.”

Young Thug’s replacement act, Dune Rats, are super-excited about their spot on the Laneway lineup, saying, “We were STOKED when we got the call up to join the 2017 Laneway Festival lineup.

“Years ago these legends were the first touring festival to take a punt on us and we had the time of our lives. We can’t wait to do it all again! Cya in just over one week!”

Refund requests for anyone who was super-keen on seeing Young Thug will be available between 7pm Wednesday, 7th December

Anyone who bought Laneway tickets between 7pm AEDT Wednesday, 7th December (when Young Thug was announced) and 12:30pm AEDT today (Wednesday, 18th January) will be able to request ticket refunds during a 72-hour window, starting today and ending at 12:30pm AEDT Saturday, 21st January. No refunds will be accepted outside of that window.

For more refund details, head to the Laneway Festival website.

Last week, Laneway also added King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard to its 2017 lineup, which you can view in full below. The festival kicks off next week.
