English troubadour Ben Ottewell, also a member of award-winning English indie rock outfit Gomez, is heading our way for a national tour behind his imminent solo LP Rattlebag. First though the vocalist and guitarist will be stopping by Music Feeds Studio this Tuesday for Music Feeds: LIVE.
Rattlebag is the follow-up to Ottewell’s 2011 solo debut, Shapes & Shadows. The new album comes thanks to fans who supported the record via an Indiegogo crowd funded campaign. On tapping fans to help fund the record, Ottewell said, “It seems to be a really honest way to do it.”
“Indiegogo lends a kind of transparency into making the record…I feel long-term Gomez followers will really enjoy engaging in this way,” he explained.
Ottewell’s Australian tour kicks off Friday, 24th October, the same day Rattlebag drops locally. He will perform at various venues in WA, SA, NSW, QLD, and Victoria, playing both songs from his solo work and the Gomez back catalogue. Joining him throughout the tour is US act Buddy.
