Catfish and the Bottlemen have cancelled their appearance at this weekend’s Splendour In The Grass festival at the eleventh hour, citing “illness in the band and crew”.
A statement on the band’s official Facebook page reveals that they have pulled the plug on their whole trip to Australia, forfeiting their appearances at both Splendour’s festival proper as well as their headlining sideshows. They’ve also canned their slot at this year’s Fuji Rock festival in Japan.
Their full statement reads:
“It is with huge regret that, due illness in the band and crew, Catfish and the Bottlemen will not be playing their planned shows this week in Australia and Japan; including Splendour in the Grass and Fuji Rocks festivals.
The band are obviously absolutely devastated not to be making the trip and hope fans will understand.
For the band’s headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney, please contact your point of purchase for refund details”.
Splendour organisers have yet to announce how the British rockers’ cancellation will affect the festival, or whether a replacement act will be recruited in time.
We’ll keep you up to date with any more news as it develops.
