Hey Geronimo have used their tilt at triple j’s Like A Version to do some A-Grade hit splicing.
The Brisbane indie rockers stopped by JHQ this morning and got creative with their tune choice for the weekly radio segment.
Instead of busting out a straight-up cover, the lads mashed up Courtney Barnett’s iconic Pedestrian At Best with Regurgitator’s classic Happiness to make for an extra-memorable cameo.
The band blended the tunes together with magic bullet efficiency, with a smattering of keys and their own spin on Barnett’s verse vocals over the top of Regurgitator’s riff, before sliding seamlessly into the Happiness chorus.
While in the studio, the band also gave a spin to their original track Boredom.
Hey Geronimo’s Like A Version appearance comes ahead of the release of their debut album Crashing Into the Sun, which comes out today, as well as a national tour this July and August.
