Watch What So Not Bring Out Daniel Johns At Sydney Laneway Festival

St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is currently making its way around the country, and one of the festival’s big guns What So Not has already given us our first surprise: bringing out former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns.

What So Not took to the Garden stage in between sets of Courtney Barnett and Gang Of Youths, and gave punters the surprise of a lifetime when pink shoulder pad-wearing Daniel Johns emerged from a coffin. Sounds about right.

Johns joined WSN on stage for three songs, including a very special remix of seminal Silverchair hit ‘Freak.’

The two have been collaborating for a while now, with Johns having appeared twice on What So Not’s debut album Not All The Beautiful Things, which was released last year.

Laneway has already ticked off Brisbane and Sydney, and will take on Adelaide, Melbourne and Fremantle this coming weekend.

Watch a clip of the performance below.
