Vampire Weekend Grace Us With Two New Tracks And Release Date For ‘Father Of The Bride’

Vampire Weekend have done another double drop, releasing another two tracks off of their upcoming album, Father of the Bride — keeping their promise of releasing two tracks each month in the lead up to the release.

‘Sunflower’ sees a feature from The Internet’s Steve Lacy and lots of those Vampire Weekend beats. ‘Big Blue’ is made up of beautiful guitar sounds and those Vampire Weekend-defining, Ezra Koenig vocals.

Both tracks have production by Ariel Rechtshaid and Ezra Koenig, and ‘Big Blue’ features co-production from DJ Dahi.

On top of the new tracks, we finally have a release date for Father of the Bride and thank god tbh. The new album is set for release Friday, 3rd May — just 11 days short of six years after Modern Vampires of the City.

We’ve already received two tracks from VW back in January, ‘Harmony Hall’ and ‘2021’.

The film clip for ‘Sunflower’ is “coming soon”, which was apparently directed by funny guy, Jonah Hill.

Jonah Hill starred in the video for ‘Harmony Hall’ along with Ezra Koenig, producer Ariel Rechtshaid, Devonté Hynes of Blood Orange, and Danielle Haim.
