Watch Kanye West Emotionally Perform ‘Hey Mama’ At Mother’s Day Sunday Service

Kanye West has been running his Sunday Service performances for a while now, but this weekend he offered a very special service for Mother’s Day.

In case you’re not aware, Kanye lost his mother Donda back in 2007 and the two were incredibly close. In fact, a lot of West’s ~turbulent~ behaviour around that time he attributes to the loss. According to TMZ, her death also lead to West’s mental breakdown in 2016.

He’s also written plenty of songs in her honour, namely 2005’s ‘Hey Mama’, taken from his second album Late Registration.

In a fitting Sunday Service, he opened with a stunning emotional rendition of the song which was preceded by a recording of 2Pac’s ‘Dear Mama’.
