Belgium’s VestiVille cancelled after punters arrive, already being compared to Fyre Festival

A music festival in Belgium that was cancelled on the day it should have started is already being compared to the infamous Fyre Festival.

VestiVille should have kicked off on Friday, with billed headliners including A$AP Rocky, Migos, Lil Pump, Cardi B, Future and Ja Rule, but punters arrived to find it had been cancelled.

As Defpen reports, punters rocked up to Kristalpark in Lommel only to be met by chaos and confusion over what was happening.

Many attempted to rush the gates but were forced back out by dogs and police.

A$AP Rocky pulled out on the morning of, citing “security and infrastructure concerns which relate to the production of the show.”

Then the official VestiVille twitter page announced the festival was officially cancelled.

By the time the announcement was made festival-goers had been waiting at their campsites for hours without food and water.

Countless videos and social posts showing the extent of the disorganisation and crowd backlash have been circulating since the cancellation.

The Brussels Times has since reported that Limbourg prosecutor’s office has since opened an investigation on suspicion of fraud over payments, and that three of the festival’s organisers have been charged.

We have a feeling this won’t be the last you hear about VestiVille… Netflix doco anyone?
