Denzel Curry Signs On For Listen Out Melbourne Basketball Match To Raise Awareness For Youth Homelessness

Listen Out big dog Denzel Curry will be swapping the stage for the basketball court this Friday, shooting some hoops with a bunch of other Listen Out Melbourne acts — and sports stars — to combat youth homelessness.

The ‘Hoops for HoMie’ Basketball Tournament (presented by iconic streetwear label Champion) will see Curry (again, that’s Denzel, not Stephen) hit the Listen Out half-court alongside the likes of Set Mo, Kinder, Perto, plus former NBA/NBL star Mitch Creek, South East Melbourne Phoenix’s Kendal Stephens, local street ballers, DJ’s and more to battle it out for bragging rights while raising awareness for local charity, HoMie.

HoMie has established itself as a Melbourne streetwear brand with a storefront in Fitzroy where 100% of the profits support young people affected by homelessness or hardship across its various social impact programs.

Listen Out Director Adelle Robinson says: “My grandfather was homeless as a young teenager so working with HoMie through Champion to combine music, street style and basketball to raise awareness for young people who are homeless is a cause close to my heart”.

The allstar space jam will take place inside Melbourne Listen Out AKA Catani Gardens this Friday, 27th September:

Round One: 2pm – 3:30pm – 8x 5-minute games of 2 on 2

Quarter Finals: 4pm – 4:30pm – 4x 5-minute games of 2 on 2

Semi Finals: 5pm – 5:15pm – 2x 5-minute games of 2 on 2
