Enjoy This Sprawling, Epic New 21-Minute Track From Animal Collective

The experiment-prone Animal Collective have always pushed boundaries when it comes to the way they approach music, and their new EP New Psycho Actives Vol. 2 is no different.

Te eclectic outfit have shared the 21-minute long ‘Autumn Rites’, the B-side to their season-themed EP. Composed by members Avey Tare and Geologist, it follows the complementary ‘Summer Blaze’, which the group released back in August.

The new EP follows, as you might imagine, New Psycho Actives Vol. 1, which the band released back in 2015. The similarly seasonal release contained the tracks ‘Tape Player Chants for Winter’ and ‘Stretching Songs for Spring’.

A largely ambient track that blends calming instrumentals with elements of hypnagogic pop, it’s well worth a listen.

If you’ve got 20 odd minutes to spare, sit back, relax and listen to ‘Autumn Rites’ below.
