Here Are The Aussie Acts Heading To Austin, Texas Next Year For SXSW

South By Southwest (SXSW) have announced their first lineup of showcasing artists, and once again there’s a stack of Australian artists making the trip to the annual industry soirée in Texas in March 2020.

From Sydney, singer-songwriter Alex the Astronaut and post-punk trio Shady Nasty will be jaunting across the Pacific for the festival along with the Gold Coast’s San Mei, plus pop wunderkind Carla Geneve and country-tinged songwriter Ruby Boots, both from Perth.

There’s an absolute bevy of representation from Melbourne, including some of the country’s most interesting and unique contemporary voices. Rapper Baker Boy, slick experimental duo HTRK, the grungy RVG and shoegazers Flyying Colours, just to name a few.

Since 1987, SXSW has platformed rising acts, allowing attendees to catch future headliners in intimate environments around Austin, Texas.

This is only the first of several showcasing artists announcements the festival will make. On that note, if you reckon you and/or your band is ready to take the leap, the final deadline to apply as a performer at SXSW Music Festival is Friday, 25th October – head here for all the deets.
