Ozzy Osbourne Will Release His New Post Malone-Inspired Solo Album In January, Says Sharon Osbourne

It looks like we won’t have to wait long for Ozzy Osbourne‘s new solo album to reach our ears!!!

According to The Prince Of Darkness’s wife Sharon, the metal icon’s new LP — which he previously dubbed “the greatest album I’ve done” — will drop in January.

Shaz gave an update on Ozzy’s health and musical plans in a recent interview with radio station SiriusXM, saying: “He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he’s getting there. He’s just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January”.

And it looks like we might have Post Malone to thank for all this. Speaking to The Sun, Ozzy recently said that it was working with the rapper after his health issues last year that inspired him to get back into recording his own music again.

“I’d never even heard of this kid,” Ozzy said, speaking about Posty.

“He wanted me to sing on his song ‘Take What You Want’, so I did and then one thing led to another. I started recording a new album with Post Malone’s producer Andrew Watt. It’s only nine tracks, but it was a catalyst to get me to where I am today.”

What’s even more amazing is that it was recorded in just four weeks. Oz says that because it’s been so long since his last record – 2010’s Scream – he is worried that he has fallen out of touch.

“Music goes straight online these days and that’s quicker than it takes me to write a text. It’s all about downloads and streaming now,” he said.

“What the fuck does that mean? What’s Spotify? I thought it was a skin problem where you woke up Spotified.”

ICYMI: Ozzy’s recent health struggles led him to postpone all of his planned international tour dates, including a headlining slot at Australia’s 2019 Download Festival. And sadly, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be coming back any time soon, with Sharon adding that her husband “won’t do any more touring”.

But “[Ozzy’s] not totally retiring”, she said, adding that a Las Vegas residency is not out of the question: “We’ve definitely thought about it, yeah,” she said.

Ozzy’s collaboration with Malone – ‘Take What You Want’ from Malone’s new album Hollywood’s Bleeding – has seen the Black Sabbath frontman return to the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 after a three decade absence.
