Just when you thought we’d hit the end of the road for this year’s most cooked headlines, James Blake and his piano waltz in with one of the most strangely beautiful covers of the year – his rendition of AQUA’s ‘Barbie Girl’.
According to Consequence Of Sound, the cover comes as a part of his ‘Solo Piano’ tour across America. It’s a deeply intimate and pretty touching experience by all accounts, and somehow he made the Scandinavian banger feel exactly the same.
It’s quite a confusing watch, because the sounds you’re hearing are so stunning but the lyrics are so ridiculous. Naturally, the crowd found it hilarious too, laughing after each line.
