Watch Chris Cornell’s Daughter Cover Temple Of The Dog At COVID-19 Gig

A coronavirus benefit digital concert held by LiveXLive has been highlighted by Chris Cornell‘s daughter, Toni Cornell, performing a cover of ‘Hunger Strike’ by Temple Of The Dog.

The Music Lives music festival raised funds for America’s MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, and saw performances by Trippie Redd, Matoma, Elephante, No Suits, as well as the late Soundgarden member’s daughter.

The festival stream crossed to Toni Cornell, performing in her father’s studio. She told viewers that ‘Hunger Strike’ was one of her favourite tunes by any of her dad’s bands.

“Sitting in my dad’s home studio during this crazy time makes me miss him even more,” she said. “Music is the greatest healer and the most powerful way to bring people together especially during tragedy.”

In an Instagram post, she explained that the Chris and Vicky Cornell foundation will be donating $50,000 to Musicares for its coronavirus relief efforts, and believes its what her dad would have done in the same situation.

“If my dad were here, I know he would have been the first to donate his time and effort. Thank you for including me, I am honored to be part of this and to help spread love through music.”

Chris Cornell tragically passed away in 2017, and last year Toni released a song of her own, produced by her late father.
