HUGE: Melbourne’s The Rev Is Being Reopened Tomorrow

Huge news for Melbourne: The Cherry Bar owners have announced they’re reopening beloved Footscray venue The Reverence Hotel, affectionately known as The Rev.

It’s been two years since we heard the pub and venue was closing its doors. Now, The Cherry Bar has announced it’ll reopen, this time as The Hotel Westwood.

Announcing the news via Facebook, The Cherry Bar said, “1.5 years ago the Cherry Bar owners took over the former Reverence Hotel (The Rev!) in Footscray.”

“After an extensive renovation and a Covid nut-punch, we are finally ready to open to the public this Saturday 28 November from 12noon as The Westwood Hotel.

“In the near future we will host live bands in our Dining Room, in our Band Room and in our amazing Beer Garden (converted car park area) seven days a week!

“But for now, we’re just thrilled to be opening with tacos and cocktails outside.”

It’s the news Melbourne deserves, frankly.

The Rev was a second home to some of Australia’s finest punk bands including Camp Cope, Luca Brasi, and The Bennies.

The new venue will open tomorrow, 28th November at noon. HYPE.
