Watch King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard’s Full Sidney Myer Music Bowl Gig From Last Month

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have shared the full, hi-def concert footage of their recent Melbourne show last month.

Shot at the hydra-headed collective’s show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday, 26th February as part of the Summer Sounds concert series, the setlist draws heavily from the band’s two latest albums – 2020’s K.G., and L.W., which arrived late last month.

The likes of ‘Automation’, ‘Honey’, Straws in the Wind’, ‘East West Link’, ‘Pleura’ and ‘O.N.E.’ all feature in the ripping, 1.5-hour long set set, along with a handful of cuts from 2017’s Flying Microtonal Banana and others.

It was one of the band’s first shows after a year off thanks to the pandemic, and was previewed with a trio of shows at the Croxton Bandroom earlier that week.

The concert film was filmed and produced by Alex McLaren, Jason Kendirian and Ashley Goodall, recorded by Nico Wilson and Sam Joseph and mixed by the band’s own Stu Mackenzie.

Earlier this month, King Gizz announced a series of shows across the country, with support from Tropical Fuck Storm. The band will kick off the run on March 31 with a show at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, before taking to Fremantle Arts Centre in Fremantle, WA the following evening. They’ll wrap up with a (sold out) show at Enmore Theatre in Sydney on April 22.
