Touring Between Aus & NZ To Restart Again Now Trans-Tasman Bubble Is A Red Hot Goer

The New Zealand PM has given the Trans-Tasman bubble a decisive thumbs up which means touring is between our two countries is back on the cards.

Jacinda Ardern today announced a two-way travel bubble with Australia will be up & running in less than two weeks, kicking off from 11.59pm on 18 April Wellington time (that’s 9:59pm AEST), meaning Aussies will be able to fly across the ditch without having to do the dreaded two weeks quarantine.

“This is an important step forward in our COVID response and represents an arrangement I do not believe we have seen in any other part of the world,” Ardern said (via SBS).

While our own PM, ScoMo, has called the deal a “win-win”.

“The fact that we now can combine again will mean jobs, it will mean people reunited, it will mean many opportunities as those normal relations are restored between Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

Said opportunities, of course, include touring. Which is great news not just for artists and bands, but also for fans.

ICYMI New Zealand just played host to the largest outdoor festival to take place post-COVID, with a casual 120,000 punters in attendance, meaning international festival tourism is also a red hot goer between Australia and NZ.

Let the fun begin.
