Kit Harington AKA Jon Snow Covers Train’s ‘Drops Of Jupiter’

Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington was a guest on the 1500th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Although there to promote the second season of Modern Love, Harington also participated in a segment titled “Straight up goes for it.” As Fallon explained, “Years ago we had an idea for a bit called ‘straight up goes for it.’ It was a simple idea: we wanted somebody to come out and straight up sing ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by the band Train.”

It never got off the ground, however. “The sketch has been our white whale; we’ve been pitching it for years, to dozens of people,” said Fallon. They all passed on it, but not this time. “Tonight that changes,” said Fallon, “because we finally have someone who has the guts to do it.”

That someone was the British actor, Kit Harington. Fallon offered a small disclaimer before Harington’s performance began. “He doesn’t play piano, by the way, and he doesn’t even really know how to sing, but he’s doing it because he’s cool and he’s funny and he gets it.” Fallon might be right – Harington isn’t exactly a double-threat and he can be seen very theatrically miming the piano throughout – but my word, does he go for it.

Fallon’s house band The Roots joined to accompany Harington midway through the song, and by its end, the masked studio audience were waving their arms in euphoric embrace. Watch it go down below.
