Britney Spears Under Investigation For Allegedly Striking Her Employee

Britney Spears is currently being investigated for misdemeanour battery in relation to an alleged incident whereby one of Spears’ home employees claims that the singer struck them.

The Hollywood Reporter received confirmation from Capt. Eric Buschow in regards to the investigation.

The plaintiff claims that Spears struck the employee during an argument that occurred at the singer’s Thousand Oaks home on August 16th.

Buschow confirmed that the employee contacted the sheriff’s office in order to report the incident.

An investigation is currently underway, and once completed, the deputies’ report will be handed to the Ventura County District Attorney’s office to determine if charges against Spears will be laid.

Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart has vehemently denied the claims on the singer’s behalf, labelling the allegations “sensational tabloid fodder.”

Rosengart noted, “To its credit, the Sheriff’s office itself has acknowledged that the incident was classified as a ‘very minor misdemeanour’ and confirmed ‘there were no injuries.’ If this did not involve Britney Spears it never would have been reported at all.”

Spears is currently in the midst of a highly-publicised legal battle to be freed from the 13-year long conservatorship that she has previously described as an abusive situation.

Last week, her father Jamie Spears, announced he will be stepping down as conservator of her estate and affairs.
