Hockey Dad Are Releasing Their Own Red Wine

Wollongong indie rockers Hockey Dad are celebrating the release of their new album, Live At The Drive In, with a drop of quaffable red wine.

Hockey Dad’s House Red is a collaboration with Sydney wine store Built to Spill, who’ve previously partnered with The Chats, Cosmic Psychos, The Jungle Giants, Cub Sport and a number of other local musos. The wine comes from Rikard Wines in Orange, NSW. It’s a shiraz, vegan-friendly, and has “no gross stuff added.”

Hockey Dad’s Zach Stephenson isn’t exactly pretending to be a sommelier. “We’re super excited to be joining forces with BTS wines to bring you all House Red,” he said. “A fine drop of Australian crafted shiraz or something. It’s red. We’re hoping fans can chuck the record on, crack the bottle and enjoy the live show experience! (responsibly).”

A bottle of House Red plus Live At The Drive In in translucent aquamarine vinyl will set you back $75. A single bottle of House Red costs $30. Preorders are open nowLive At The Drive In is due for release on Friday, 5th November. The album documents Hockey Dad’s shows at the Bulli Showgrounds on 9th and 10th October 2020.

“We wanted to record and release the show as a little memento from a very weird time in the entertainment industry where conventional gigs are out the window,” said the band. “Hopefully it brings back fond memories if you attended any of the gigs. If it’s your first listen, we hope you enjoy the show and we are sure you’ll love the horns.”
