Hockey Dad Announce New Album ‘Rebuild Repeat’ & National Tour Dates

Hockey Dad have just dropped the motherload. Not only have the Wollongong indie rockers announced the imminent arrival of their fourth studio album Rebuild Repeat dropping Friday, 14th June 2024, they’ve also unveiled a massive celebratory headline tour to boot.

The Dads themselves, Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming, will be hitting five massive stages across the country this June and July, visiting fans in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, with support from LA indie-punk shooting stars Militarie Gun (East Coast only) and local legends The Belair Lip Bombs (all shows).

Hockey Dad – ‘Base Camp’

The news comes hot on the heels of a brand new Hockey Dad single dubbed ‘Base Camp’ (stream above) a euphorically melodic slice of indie-pop, co-written, produced and mixed by Alex Burnett (Thelma Plum, Sparkadia) and Oli Horton (Foals, Alice Ivy) alongside Tim McArtney (Gang of Youths, Jarryd James), which will feature on the forthcoming LP.

However, fans’ first taste of Rebuild Repeat actually came last year in the form of single ‘Still Have Room’, which was recently voted into the triple j Hottest 100 of 2023 at number #45, marking the band’s eighth ever entry in the world’s biggest music countdown.

“This album for me feels like a fresh rebirth after a muddy, hazy couple of years for us and everyone else in the world,” guitarist and lead vocalist Zach Stephenson said of the record in a press statement.

Rebuild Repeat as a title kind of describes the process of making a new record as a band. You only have yourselves as raw materials. You knock down what you had from the past, re-design, rebuild it and repeat. Hopefully you learn some structural integrity tips along your way.”
