Vampire Weekend were given the honor of seeing out this year’s SXSW with their showcase and have made the most of the opportunity, picking this moment to debut two brand-new tracks off their forthcoming album Modern Vampires of the City.
First and foremost, we apologise for the bootleg quality of the below videos but surely the content will make up for it. The band look fairly happy with themselves as they perform the previously unheard Diane Young and Ya Hey, and for good reason – judging by the crowd response, the jams clearly resonate well amongst the fans.
The last track to be premiered off the album was Arms, which you may remember was unleashed for the first time while they performed in Sydney as part of their recent Big Day Out sideshows, so they clearly hold onto the new tunage for big moments.
Modern Vampires of the City was rumoured for a June release but things are looking better with the band confirming a 7th May international release date.
