NBCU Boss Confirms They’re Considering A Reboot Of ‘The Office’

In 2013, arguably one of the best sitcoms of all time, The Office, wrapped up its final season, leaving our hearts warm and our television screens bare.

There’s been whispers of a reboot for a while now, with fans extremely open to the idea of the show returning and today, we might finally have an answer to that wish.

American broadcasting giant NBCU are gearing up to release their new streaming platform, Peacock, via their NBCUniversal arm. It was announced earlier today that an initial run of original series will include reboots of Battlestar Galactica, Saved By The Bell and more.

News of a potential Office reboot came alongside today’s announcement.

“It is my hope and goal that we do an Office reboot,” NBCU’s Bonnie Hammer, Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer and Digital Enterprises, told Deadline.

The Office comes back to us in January 2021. It is my hope that we can figure what that great reboot would be,” she said, also saying that “We are having conversations.”

Earlier this week, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, who play Pam and Angela on the show respectively, announced their new podcast, Office Ladies. The poddy will see them rewatching the show together, and then talking about one episode per week, so if that’s not enough to satisfy you, maybe this will.

Please enjoy the Fire Drill scene in the meantime.
