Metalcore veterans Killswitch Engage announced their Australian return back in February after frontman Jesse Leach made a surprise appearance on Triple J‘s The Racket. The dates kicked off last week, but before the band flew down, we scored some time with guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.
“Every time we go to Australia it seems very genuine and very honest, probably because of the fact that it’s so damn hard to get there. So when we actually do, a lot of the fans are stoked because we finally made it down there. That really is the worst thing about coming to your country,” says Adam.
He continues that while “the cost of flying and the amount of flying” is arduous, “once we’re there it’s one of my favourite places on Earth.” Talking a little shop touring-wise, Adam laments the “wicked expensive” cost of touring in Australia, telling us, “It’s so much money just to fly there.”
However, despite the costs, Adam admits that it’s tough to keep Killswitch Engage away from their Australian fan base, telling Music Feeds, “We just love it there, it’s such a great time and such great people. If we can get the chance to play there, it makes sense. Of course we’re going to do it.”
