Surrealist dreamers Dream Dali return this week with their second single, ‘Little Lights’. The reverberous number is officially out this Friday, August 30, but you can hear the first taste of it right here via Music Feeds.
The track sees them take us on a tumbling fall down the rabbit hole, descending into a hollow, driving, darkwave wonderland. Drawing on some historically heavy influences such as The Cure and The Doors, they also look to newer acts like Tame Impala and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard to perfect the balance between old school rock and new school psychedelia.
Lead vocalist Aldous Emerson explains: “’Little Lights’ comes from a personal experience in dealing with a challenging and dark time with a relationship. Lots of allegedly supernatural things were happening that caused a lot of issues with anxiety and trauma, but I always had hope. The ‘Little Lights’ are the hope.”
The members of Dream Dali certainly aren’t strangers to the live stage, having played individually for artists such as Vera Blue, Daniel Johns, Kite String Tangle and Miami Horror, and supporting the likes of Phoenix, Washed Out and Empire of the Sun.
Dream Dali will be celebrating the release of ‘Little Lights’ with their debut Brisbane performance at next week’s BIGSOUND 2019 at the Library Group Records party. Details below.
