Brisbane/Gold Coast rock troupe Smoking Martha have blessed us with a heartfelt new acoustic ballad dubbed ‘Baby Let Me Go’.
The aching tune about love and loss has been sliced off the band’s debut album In Deep, and comes packing a dreamy music video directed by Tyson Lloyd Films, which you can catch premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below.
“‘Baby Let Me Go’ is my favourite song on the album,” vocalist Tasha D explains. “This track is very close to my heart we wrote it acoustically a little while ago, it was my way of dealing with death and finally letting go.
“It was my chance to strip back and bare all vocally and emotionally.”
She continues: “We kept it acoustic and added string instruments by guest instrumentalist Chris Carmichael from Stonehurst Studios to bring out the emotion of the song.
“While it’s tender and not the typical heavy rock side of our sound, we have had great reviews from it, hopefully proving we can win you over just as easily with our softer side.”
The visuals for ‘Baby Let Me Go’ arrive as Smoking Martha prepare to head off on their first UK tour and put pen to paper on a European distribution deal with Bad Reputation Records.
Give it a watch below, or catch them live celebrating their Going Away Party at The Woolly Mammoth Alehouse in Brisbane this Friday, September 28th.
