PREMIERE: The Butterfly Effect Return With Searing New Single ‘So Tired’

After an extended hiatus, veteran Australian rockers The Butterfly Effect returned back in 2019, sharing the single ‘Unbroken’ and making a slew of festival appearances. Now, the band are set to follow it up with their first single for the year, new song ‘So Tired’, which we’re premiering here at Music Feeds before it officially drops this Wednesday, 17th November.

Musically, ‘So Tired’ is everything fans love about classic Butterfly Effect cuts: it’s a ferocious, fist-pumping rager on the surface, but it’s also anchored underneath by complex rhythms and a dynamic sense of experimentalism, with the song covering a lot of ground across its five-minute runtime.

Above razor-sharp guitars and propulsive drum and bass, frontman Clint Boge oscillates between pained howls and a melodic croon, his lyrics on the track an exploration of masculinity, violence and substance abuse.

“This song is about excess; this song is about us. We started this band, then before we knew it, it became ‘hold on for your dear lives!'” Boge explains.

“We were in a cycle of writing, touring, recording, touring – and above all else, we were partying non-stop. If you wanna know what it is like to live that life, there is no better explanation than this song.”
