Twin Peaks Share 5 Songs You Need To Survive A World Tour

Garage rock nerds Twin Peaks have announced their first Australian tour, playing three intimate shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in May. The tour will support their upcoming third album, ‘Down In Heaven’.

Known for their sophisticated nods to old-school ’60s bands as well as garage punk, Twin Peaks was formed in Chicago in 2009 while the band members were still in high school.

To prep themselves for their upcoming sojourn around the world, the lads have put together this tidy little playlist, that they swear gets them through all the travel chaos.

Brian Eno – 1/1

This track’s off Ambient 1: Music For Airports and I love this track because it’s extremely tranquil, and although it revolves around a similar melody it’s subtle evolving and I hear it different each listen. Plus it’s nice ‘n long.

Beach Boys – I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times

Off Pet Sounds this one’s just a beautiful track with perfect melody and instrumentation. It’s a dense production I never find myself sick of.

Harry Nilsson – Many Rivers To Cross

Those lead guitars! That gnarly voice! It’s great because it’s a very catchy melody and deep lyrics (a la Jimmy Cliff originally) but with that painfully raspy delivery. “And this loneliness won’t leave me ‘lone!”
