18-Year-Old Aspiring Rapper Facing Terrorism Charges After Posting Lyrics On Facebook

18-year-old aspiring rapper Cameron D’Ambrosio, aka Cammy Dee, is facing terrorism charges and 20 years in prison for posting lyrics on his Facebook page referencing the Boston Marathon Bombing and calling the White House a “federal house of horror.”

The schoolboy from Methuen, a small town just outside Boston, was wagging school on 1st May when he made the post. He was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with Communicating a Terrorist Threat, a felony that carries 20 years in prison. Boston authorities are clearly on edge after the bombings on 15th April, which killed 3 people and injured another 264.

Cammy Dee’s controversial lyrics were “Fuck a Boston bomb wait till u see the shit I do, I’m be famous rapping, and beat every murder charge that comes across me!” He is currently being held without bail for the next 3 months pending trial, despite reports that a search of the teenager’s house failed to produce any explosives, weapons or evidence that he was planning anything. D’Ambrosio’s Facebook account has since been deleted.

Centre For Rights have started a petition hoping to draw attention to the wannabe rapper’s right to free speech. You can sign it here.
