22-Year-Old Allegedly Caught With 396 MDMA Pills At Sydney’s Defqon.1 Festival

Police have charged 45 people with drug offences after yesterday’s Defqon.1 Festival in Penrith including one man caught with 396 MDMA pills.

The hardstyle music festival saw 24,000 people through its gates and police ran a major operation targeting drugs and other anti-social behaviour.

45 people were charged with drug offences with eight of those picked up for drug supply. A 22 year-old German man was allegedly found with 396 MDMA pills. He’ll face court on charges of supply and also breach of bail.

Another man allegedly had 200 pills on him while a woman allegedly had 87 pills on her.

On top of the drug operation, police also conducted random breath tests near the Penrith venue. Six drivers returned a positive result for drugs while another two were charged with drink driving.

The arrest numbers are slightly down from last year’s festival which saw 77 people arrested for drug-related offences.
