Rapper 50 Cent has been charged with domestic violence after he allegedly kicked down a bathroom door to get to his victim, the mother of one of his children, then proceeded to kick and injure her before trashing her Los Angeles condo, doing $7,100 worth of damage.
Fiddy, real name Curtis Jackson, was charged with 1 count of domestic violence and 4 counts of vandalism over the 23rd June incident, in which he is said to have broken furniture, a television, and a lamp. If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison and up to $46,000 in fines. The victim, who hasn’t been named, is said to be an ex-girlfriend of the 37-year-old Candy Shop rapper.
Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer told CNN, “Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime, and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office.”
Jackson’s arraignment is set for 22nd July at the Van Nuys Superior Court.
