A Tribe Called Quest Just Teased Plans For A World Tour

A Tribe Called Quest‘s final album We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service is out now, and features a ridiculous list of collaborators as well as never-before-heard vocals from the late Phife Dawg.

Now, in an interview with Billboard, Tribe leader Q-Tip has revealed that the group have plans for a final world tour, but that any such tour would mark the end of A Tribe Called Quest forever.

“This is our last record and we’ll probably do a world tour,” he said. “After that, that’s it, for the rest of our lives.”

A Tribe Called Quest toured Australia for the first time back in 2010, and haven’t been back since, so here’s hoping they make it down under once last time as part of their farewell tour.

In their recent Billboard interview, the band also reflected on how important it was to go ahead and create their first record in 18 years after the tragic death of Phife, who was so passionate about the group and kept the guys on track throughout their careers.

“It was Phife who spearheaded this whole project,” said Q-Tip. “All we could do is make dope music and celebrate our man.”

A Tribe Called Quest debuted two new tracks from the album on SNL last week featuring a poster of Phife Dawg, which could be a sneak peak at the kind of setup they might employ on any forthcoming tours.
