The Swedish pop legends have announced that they’re set to be immortalised in hologram form, with ABBA DIGITAL set to bring the music of ABBA to a new generation in the coming years.

In a statement (below) posted to Facebook, ABBA revealed that the venture has been created by a team including well-known entertainment entrepreneur Simon Fuller, Universal Music Group, and of course members of the band, who’ll be consulted and involved throughout the process.

“The aim is to create an original entertainment experience with the Swedish Pop Superstars, which will enable a new generation of fans to see, hear, and feel ABBA in a way previously unimagined,” says the post.

Simon Fuller explains that the project will explore a new world of technology, “With Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence at the forefront, that will allow us to create new forms of entertainment and content we couldn’t have previously imagined.”

“We’re inspired by the limitless possibilities of what the future holds and are loving being a part of creating something new and dramatic here,” says ABBA’s Benny Andersson. “A time machine that captures the essence of who we were. And are.”

The group’s Frida Lyngstad says, “Our fans around the world are always asking us to reform and so I hope this new ABBA creation will excite them as much as it excites me!”

ABBA are the latest in a string of celebrities including Elvis Presley, TupacRonnie James Dio, and more recently, Harambe, to be made into holograms.
