AFL Player Criticised For Playing 8pm DJ Set At Melbourne’s Revolver

Hawthorn AFL player Ben Stratton has had his ethics as a footballer questioned thanks to a DJ set he performed at notorious Melbourne club Revolver.

Panelists on Channel 9’s Footy Classified have questioned Stratton’s “dubious” decision to perform at the club a full six days out from his next game, despite the fact that the set lasted only two hours and wrapped up by 10pm.

Despite Hawthorn defending their player, stating that they were informed of and had approved of his extra-curricular activities, the show’s panelists including Caroline Wilson and Craig Hutchinson were less than pleased with Stratton’s actions due to Revolver’s shady history, as InTheMix points out.

“I think the club in question is a dubious one,” said Hutchinson of the three-time premiership winner. “I don’t  like the look of him being in a place like that.”

“I don’t think it’s a particularly good look, no,” agreed Wilson. “I mean I’m not saying it’s a den of iniquity, but it has been in the news a lot lately. It’s been an unfortunate place over the summer months.”
