In a somewhat surprising but welcomed collaboration, The Strokes’ Albert Hammond. Jr has shared a photo of himself recording music with homegrown hero Natalie Imbruglia in Byron Bay.
Taking to Instagram, Hammond Jr. revealed that him and Imbruglia have been cooking up sonic gold in Byron’s Rockinghouse Recording Studio, saying that the two of them and producer Gus Oberg have been making “some amazing songs.”
Imbruglia also shared a photo of Hammond in the studio, captioning it with “approaching giddy o’clock.”
It’s been a little bit since we’ve had music from either of these artists. Hammond Jr.’s last solo album, Francis Trouble, was released last year and Hammond Jr. accompanied that with an Aussie tour and a slot on the 2018 Splendour In The Grass lineup.
It’s been even longer between drinks for Imbruglia, whose last album came out in 2015 – a cover album of exclusively male artists titled Male.
Whatever these two are cooking up in the studio, we need to hear it ASAP.
