Always Live 2024: Jack White, St. Vincent + More

Always Live, the Victoria-centric concert series that debuted in 2022, has formally announced its return for November and December 2024. A mix of both international and Australian acts will perform in Melbourne and other regional centres across the state – with many shows being Australian exclusives. The full list of artists in the first announcement can be found below.

“This year’s program not only reinforces our status as the music capital of Australia, but brings an extraordinary array of unique and exclusive experiences to audiences across the state,” said Matt Gudinski – the chair of Always Live and son of the late Michael Gudinski – in a press statement regarding the 2024 series. “I am incredibly proud to be part of delivering this year’s program, and continuing to build the legacy of Always Live.”

Heading up the international contingent is Jack White, who will perform at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel and Ballarat’s Civic Hall in early December. It marks his first Australian performances since his headlining set at the inaugural Harvest Rock in November 2022, as well as his first Victorian shows since 2019 – where he performed at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre as part of The Saboteurs.

St. Vincent, too, will make her return after over seven years – bringing her All Born Screaming world tour to Melbourne’s Palais Theatre and Her Majesty’s Theatre in Ballarat. She will also participate in An Intimate Audience, which will include a solo performance and Q&A in the Botanic Gardens.

Elsewhere, The Offspring will perform at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, Starcrawler will headline the Lulie Tavern’s Luliepalooza, Richard Marx will co-headline a one-off show with Tina Arena and Italian-American producer Anyma will bring his Genesys live show to Australia for the first time.

On the Australian front, Chet Faker will perform at the Botanical Gardens to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of his platinum-selling 2014 debut Built On Glass, while Missy Higgins will officially conclude her national tour The Second Act with an encore performance at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Tash Sultana, Baker Boy, Sarah Blasko, Birds Of Tokyo and Tasman Keith will also perform.
