Anna Lunoe Announces Debut Album ‘Pearl’, Shares Title Track

Anna Lunoe has shared details of Pearl, her debut studio album. It is set for release next month on Friday, October 25th via NLV Records – the independent label owned and run by Lunoe’s longtime friend and collaborator, Nina Las Vegas. In a press statement announcing the record, Lunoe confessed that releasing a full-length studio album was something she never anticipated doing.

“When I started out in dance music as a local DJ, my dream was to fill dance floors and pay my rent,” she said. “As my career expanded and the industry changed, I got thrown into new challenge after new challenge. I always felt like my artist voice had to be secondary to my DJ needs. In a way, this marks a kind of colossal shift in perspective on my career to date, putting my artistry at the front in a way I never have before.”

The DJ, producer, academic and songwriter has shared the album’s title track to coincide with the album’s announcement. Co-written and co-produced by Bag Raiders member Jack Glass, Lunoe describes her latest single as being “about fighting for your spirit and creative force in a world that isn’t really designed for us to hold on to it”.

“Sonically, this was an exercise in emotion and clarifying a feeling as opposed to straight up club tune making,” she said. “It’s more sincere than I’ve allowed myself to be publicly before, but those few who get to hear my scruffy demos know this Anna well.” The song can be streamed below.

Prior to the album’s announcement, Lunoe has spent the last year drip-feeding singles that will appear on Pearl. This includes ‘Real Love’, ‘Deep Blue Sea’ ‘Right Here’ and ‘Only Love’. Having toured Australia earlier this year as an opening act for The Chemical Brothers, Lunoe will tour the country in October playing the biggest shows of her career: Supporting The Weeknd on his 2024 stadium tour.
