The lineup for the Adelaide leg of Soundwave 2015 has just expanded courtesy of triple j Unearthed, who today announced that local boys A Ghost Orchestra will be joining the likes of Slipknot and Smashing Pumpkins at this year’s festival.
A Ghost Orchestra will be given the opportunity to open Soundwave 2015 in their home state in Adelaide on Sunday 22nd February. They’ll be playing on the Slipknot and Smashing Pumpkins festival day and according to the latest timetables will be opening up proceedings at 12.20pm on Stage 1.
According to their Unearthed profile, the four piece hardcore act formed in 2012 and have cut their teeth playing alongside Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, The Amity Affliction, Protest the Hero and Silverstein.
They released their Vile Hymns EP last year, including the track Hesitator — the video for which can be viewed below. “We feel overwhelmingly privileged to be playing Soundwave Festival Adelaide this year,” the band wrote on Facebook. “A big shout out to triple j & triple j Unearthed for getting us this spot!”

Triple j Unearthed will be announcing more unsigned additions to the Soundwave 2015 lineups for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane over the next few days.
Last year’s winners of the triple j Unearthed Soundwave competition were Mt Gambier melodic hardcore outfit Sierra, Melbourne punk rockers Ceres, Perth death metal group Xenobiotic, Newcastle punks Trophy Eyes and Brisbane groove metal band Chronolyth.
Correction: A previous version of this article stated that A Ghost Orchestra will play at Adelaide Soundwave on Saturday February 21st – this is incorrect. They will play on the Slipknot/Smashing Pumpkins-headlined day which is Sunday, 22nd February.

Escape The Fate (US): The Las Vegas masters are returning to capitalise on the wave of positive reviews that met their 2010 Soundwave debut. The band are sure to be airing plenty of tunes from their last album, 'Ungrateful', which they largely self-produced. -

King 810 (US): Talk about your reputation preceding you. If there's one band that's bringing shock rock into the 21st Century, it could well be King 810. The Flint death metallers are renowned for their confronting live shows, where the crime scene tape that festoons the stage could become vital at any moment. -

Dayshell (US): The latest from former Of Mice & Men vocalist Shayley “Dayshell” Bourget, Dayshell craft warm melodies and gnashing guitars, pairing them with heavy rhythms and soaring chorsues. With no “scene” restrictions and a desire to push boundaries, this could be Bourget's most vital project yet. -

This Wild Life (US): Expanding the boundaries of what pop punk can be, these Californians told Music Feeds that they take pride in being "the odd man out." But with their finely crafted acoustic tunes, warm vocal melodies, and diary-like lyrics, we expect they'll quickly be accepted by the crowds at Soundwave 2015.
