Second Soundwave Lineup Postponed, One New Act Added

The second lineup announcement for Soundwave 2015, which we were expecting within the next few days, has been postponed until next week according to festival boss AJ Maddah. It’s not all bad news from the promoter though, with Maddah also confirming that heavy metal outfit Nonpoint have been added to the Soundwave 2015 lineup.

“I have good news, bad news and mediocre news,” wrote Maddah late last evening on his mouthpiece of choice, Twitter. The good news, explains Maddah, is that he is adding three more bands to the 2015 festival lineup. The bad news though is that, due to his last-minute decision, the second lineup announcement has now been postponed until next week.

“As thanks for your patience, I’ll announce 2 bands by giving clues until someone wins. Winner gets tour of #SW15 backstage,” added Maddah. Thanks to a few clues from the promoter about the mystery band’s last Australian appearance and their hometown, one cluey punter guessed correctly that Fort Lauderdale heavy metal outfit Nonpoint will be joining the Soundwave 2015 family.

The band actually declared their desire to be included on the Soudnewave 2015 bill earlier this year. Maddah also confirmed to one follower that Ohio rockers Relient K are also one of the three bands he’s “trying to book”. According to Maddah, punters can expect confirmation of who the other new band is at 8pm tonight.

For weeks now, fans have been awaiting the second lineup announcement for the summer 2015 festival, which Maddah previously said includes “around 14 bands” left over for a second reveal as some acts “couldn’t get their shit together in time” for the first announcement.
