Arcade Fire ‘Afterlife’ Lyric Video Released

If last week’s little taster of new Arcade Fire track Afterlife whet your appetite, get ready for the full meal ’cause the Montreal indie outfit today revealed the studio version on Zane Lowe‘s show on BBC Radio 1.

The Win Butler-led 7-piece then dropped an official lyric video of the track, which clocks in at a lengthy six minutes. The clip continues the band’s exploration of Greek mythology, featuring footage from the 1959 Brazilian film Black Orpheus. That ties in nicely with the artwork for forthcoming full-length Reflektor, which features Auguste Rodin’s sculpture of Orpheus and Eurydice, and some of the track names from the album, like Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice) and It’s Never Over (Oh Orpheus).

Arcade Fire’s Reflektor is just under a week away now, with the much anticipated follow-up to The Suburbs scheduled for release in Australia on 1st November. The band will then be heading our way to play the Big Day Out, gracing our shores in January of 2014.
