Following the good news that Aussie indie pop royalty Architecture In Helsinki will be releasing their new album NOW + 4EVA later this month, the Melburnian quintet will also be opening a pop-up retail space to celebrate.
Described as “part gallery, part listening space, part retail emporium”, the NOW + 4EVA Concept Store will not only stock the fifth studio effort from the band on vinyl, CD, cassette and USB, but a host of other goodies, like a clothing collection by label Kloke, bags by Witu, jewellery and accessories by Dale Hardiman, socks by Tightology and nail polish by Kester Black.
They’ll also stock some more out-there trinkets for the discerning AIH fan, like 3D candy versions of the band by Red Balloon via Lucy McRae, as well as prints of the NOW + 4EVA cover art by Finnish artist Santtu Mustonen.
Frontman Cameron Bird expressed his excitement about the space, saying, “We see this as an opportunity to forge a vibrant new connection with our audience and in turn, explore new ideas of what music retail could be.”
The temporary store will run in Melbourne Central Shopping Centre between Friday, 28th March and Sunday, 6th April, with a special opening launch to take place between 6-8pm AEDT on Thursday, 27th March. The space will be an immersive sonic experience, complete with a sound installation, created by Melbourne architecture firm Sibling.
NOW + 4EVA is out Friday, 28th March through Casual Workout and Inertia.
