Ariana Grande Drops Brand New Song ‘Monopoly’ With Victoria Monét

Ariana Grande, a woman who apparently does not sleep, is still reeling in the success of her biggest album yet Thank U, Next. Now, while she’s touring America with her Sweetener tour, she’s gone and dropped a brand new song titled ‘Monopoly’, with the help of good friend and songwriter Victoria Monét.

Grande and Monét have been collaborating for a long time now, with Monét helping to pen some of Grande’s biggest hits, like ‘thank u, next’ and ‘7 rings’. Interestingly enough, there’s a reference to the latter track within the lyrics of ‘Monopoly’.

Grande and Monét sing “Even though we gave up that 90 percent for the win, go” which is referring to the fact that the two of them had to give up 90% of royalties of ‘7 Rings’ to Rogers & Hammerstein, as the song heavily samples the duo’s The Sound Of Music classic ‘My Favourite Things.’

Grande is set for a big couple of months, headlining both Coachella and Lollapalooza. There’s no word yet of an Australian tour, but given her ridiculous success here, we can be sure to expect one soon enough.
